The NYPPA contest will be judged March 4 and 5, Friday afternoon from 3 to 6pm and Saturday beginning at 9a and running until 6p at the Graduate School of Journalism of CUNY.
On Friday, use the 219 west 40th street entrance．This entrance is closed on weekends, so on Saturday use this address: 230 West 41st．
Members are invited to attend the judging 3p-6p Friday and 9a-conclusion Saturday.

Steve FineSteve Fine is the photo editor at Flipboard, an app that serves 10 million readers a day. Prior to that, he was the Director of Photography at Sports Illustrated for 17 years and before that edited pictures on staff at The New York Times for nine years. He has worked as a freelancer for NBC Sunday Night Football and appeared on HBO’s “Sport in America” documentary.
James K. ColtonJames K. Colton is Editor-at-Large at ZUMA Press and Founder and Editor-in-Chief of zPhotoJournal.com. He began his career in 1972 at the Associated Press. Five years later he joined Newsweek and became their Director of Photography before joining Sports Illustrated as their Photography Editor for 15 years. He was the Jury Chairman for the World Press Photo contest in 2005, received an International Photography Awards “Lucie” for Picture Editor of the Year in 2007, was the recipient of the “Focus” award for Lifetime Achievement by the Griffin Museum in 2010 and has been acknowledged as one of the 100 most important people in photography by American Photo.
Sue BriskSue Brisk began her fascination with photojournalism using the camera she received from her grandmother. Her passion for photojournalism came from being in Memphis Tennessee during the Martin Luther King assassination and following the turmoil in America during 1968.After pursuing photography in high school she attended the San Francisco Art Institute where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography. While working at Newsweek’s Boston Editorial Bureau, she earned her Master of Science in Print Journalism from Boston University. For 17 years she worked at Sipa Press, the French Agency representing photographers worldwide, followed by a position at the prestigious Magnum Photos as Editorial Director. Ms. Brisk has been a board member of the EugeneSmith Fund. She has been a judge for numerous photographic events such as Pictures of The Year, The Overseas Press Club and the Santa Fe Fellowship Prize amongst others. She has reviewed work at Houston’s FotoFest, Santa Fe’s Reviews, Portland’s PhotoLucida, Fotofusion in West Palm Beach and at The Palm Springs annual Photographic Festival. Her current career freelancing as a visual editor is focused on helping photographers elevate and ‘re-imagine’ their own personal vision. She provides guidance for presentation, selection, editing, and sequencing for portfolios & media publications.
