It is with great Sadness that we have to share the passing of Vic “Vito” DeLucia.

A note from his longtime friend and colleague Jerry Engel………

‘Former New Orleans York Times and New YorkPost Photographer Vic DeLucia passed away on Friday, November 16, 2018 following a long illness. He died at his beloved Glen Cove home with family members and his wife Joanne at his bedside. He was 85 years old.
After working at the Journal American, until they shut down in 1966, he came to the Post after I convinced Stan Opotowsky to put him on staff and he remained with us for 10-12 years, when he moved over to the Times.
Vic was a close friend and mentor when I joined the Post in 1954 and we remained close up to a short conversation the night before he died. He served two terms as treasurer and member of the Board of  Trustees of The New York Press Photographers Association. He also won numerous awards for his photography over his long career.
While at the Post, Vic was always seen smoking his pipe and friendly with everyone, from copyboys/copygirls to the editors. He and Larry Nathanson had a close friendship from their years at the Journal.

No funeral services as he wanted to be cremated, but his wife said there will be a memorial in the summer.

He will forever be in my thoughts.

RIP my good friend, you deserve it.’
