NYPPA ANNUAL EXHIBIT AND AWARDS CEREMONY ANNOUNCED
Many of you have inquired about the Awards Dinner and why it was not held at the usual time.
We have decided to fold the Awards Ceremony into a party to be held during the Exhibit. Unfortunately, we had difficulty finding a space. We also needed to line up sponsorship to defray the costs. Thankfully both issues have been resolved. Con Ed will once again sponsor the Exhibit, and our good friend Seolbin Park, of SBgroupe, has stepped up to offer us her new gallery space in Manhattan.
The Exhibit is scheduled to open either July 28 or July 29. It will close August 18, a Sunday.
All this just fell into place this week, and we have less than a month to print, frame and hang the exhibit. We could try to hold the party/Awards Ceremony Monday, July 29 but we are concerned that we may not have enough time to get things ready, and that is short notice to our category sponsors. We would prefer to hold the party later, toward the end of the exhibit, on either August 15 (a Thursday).
I am contacting caterers now to see which dates can work for them, but more importantly I need to know from MEMBERS and the contest winners if you will not be able to make one of those dates. Please send me an email IMMEDIATELY with any of those dates that you cannot attend (email@example.com). If I don’t hear from you I will assume all dates are good for you. We will set the Party date and what the cost will be when the Board meets, July 18th and we will post on Facebook and on the website.
We realize that, under the circumstances, all contest winners may not be able to attend and we are waiving the requirement that you must attend to get your awards. The ceremony will be formal, but everyone can plan on attending in summer attire. It will be a casual affair. Full details and ticket costs will be posted ASAP.
