Sports Illustrated Photographer and NYPPA Member Lou Cappozzola passed away last night

The sports and photo world mourns a great friend and colleague – Lou Cappozzola passed away last night. He will be missed and when we get more information we will update on the NYPPA Website

Yesterday, August 18th, my family and I suffered the great loss of my father, Louis Capozzola. The outpouring of support from friends and family has been amazing and it has meant a lot to see just how much he touched all of the people in his life.
 
We will be holding a visitation on Tuesday, August 23rd at:

Immediately following the mass, we will have a reception at Amy’s Ark Studio and Farm to share stories and celebrate his life.

While in Nepal, Lou was deeply moved by the images he saw of children getting to school by crossing rivers on long ropes. He came home with the goal of getting a foot bridge built. In his name, we would like to construct a foot bridge to provide passage to children and villagers in far western Nepal. This bridge can serve as a symbol of friendship, hope and the strong connections Lou made with everyone that stepped into his life.
 
In lieu of flowers, we would ask that you make donations to support this project. All funds will be matched by the Dhulikhel Rotary Club in Nepal. I will be providing information regarding where funds can be sent at a later date.
