Pre911:Twin Towers Once Stood

The 10th anniversary of the tragic event of 911 in New York City that stole many precious lives and also granted security among New Yorkers is nearing with much of evaporating emotions in layers of sorrows, pain and hope for healing.

Three years ago, SB D Gallery curated and directed the first exhibition that stopped the life of Twin Towers as of September 10th, 2001, in effort to heal from the wound by brining back the happy memories of Twin Towers before the terror.

As a closure, “Pre911:Twin Towers Once Stood” will have the finale this year marching with a decade of struggles, and would love to have all or any of your participations with your messages in forms of arts. Photographs, drawings, paintings, poems, sculptures, mixed media… without limited to the medium, share your soul and spirit united as one, the human.

In addition to your qualified art works, the work of 46 international artists’ who participated last two years will be presented again and also multiple fabric banners will be printed with images and messages to be hung as walls of buildings. Guests will walk through these ceiling high long banners to experience the feeling of being inside or right in front of buildings.

The exhibition will open on September 11, 2011, at 4pm and runs for two weeks.

My hope, as a resident living in downtown of Manhattan for 21 years and at the time time, curator and director of SB D Gallery, is to accept the life that is beyond the control of moral, and go on with the life comforting and leaning on each others. It will NEVER be forgotten, nor healed, and that sharp stabbing into our souls on that specific day of terror will be remembered with the deep scar.
