The New York Press Photographers Association Update and Message to our Members
The health and safety of our NYPPA members is and always has been our number one priority at The NYPPA — never more so than now. As the situation around the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) continues to evolve at a rapid pace, we have decided to implement measures to ensure your safety.
As you may know, NY State today placed restrictions on large gatherings. While it is not yet clear whether these guidelines apply to organizations like ours, we have made the decision to implement the following changes at NYPPA:
- We will postpone the upcoming NYPPA Gallery Opening and workshops, PhotoNY, for visual journalists that was to be held on April 25, 2020 25 at Artspace PS109 in Manhattan to a date in the future.
- We will postpone the NYPPA Dinner at the Water Club that was to be held Thursday May 14, 2020 to a date in the future.
Also, our NYPPA monthly Board meetings will until further notice will be held via conference calls.
Again, we apologize for this sad news that sets us all back both professionally and personally. But we vow to come back stronger than ever when this contagion runs its course.
It goes without saying that the health and safety of our organization is our number one priority, so we will continue to provide updates as we receive any new information.
Until then, we wish you all the best of health.
The Board of the NYPPA
Bruce Cotler, President
