Getty Images' Chris Hondros killed in Libya

Getty Images confirmed in a statement today that one of its photojournalists, Chris Hondros, was killed from injuries sustained from a mortar round in Misrata, Libya on Wednesday, April 20th, 2011. Fellow photographer Tim Hetherington was also killed, and photographers Guy Martin and Michael Christopher Brown were injured.

Members of the NYPPA sends their condolences to Chris' family and colleagues.
