Occupy Wall Street: File an incident report if you experienced a clash with police

Dear NYPPA Members:

Due to reports of conflict between journalists and police as the NYPD cracked down on the Occupy Wall Street movement, the NYPPA needs to know about it in order to help you! If you experienced or witnessed a confrontation with law enforcement, we need you to document it ASAP while it is fresh in your mind!

Please go to http://nyppa.org/incident-report/ and use the NYPPA Incident Report Form to tell us everything you saw, the more details the better. You can choose to fill out the web based form for the fastest and easiest way to tell us. If you prefer to print the form to have with you to better document events when you see them, download and print either the PDF or .Doc from the same page.

This is open to NYPPA members or to any other journalist who clashed with any member of authority while trying to do your job. If you were assaulted, we need to know! If your press credentials were taken from you, we need to know! If you were prevented from doing your job in ANY way, including being kept far away from where activities were happening despite having proper press credentials, WE NEED TO KNOW!

Please fill out the very easy form ASAP if you either experienced or witnessed any journalist having an altercation with law enforcement. If you don't tell us, we can't help you as an individual or journalists as a whole. Names will be kept confidential and someone from the NYPPA may followup with you if more information is required. We have documented conflict between police and journalists for decades and need your help to continue to have an open dialog with the NYPD to improve the situation.
